Detailed description : Old and small property fully restored and modernised, in the tiny village of Argüébanes (Potes 4 kilometres), Cantabria, North Spain. It was built in the local traditional style, with a closed garden who affords complete privacy with fantastic views to the valley and to the high peaks. It is surrounded by mountains valleys and woods. The very nice garden, with chairs and tables, is perfect for eating out, sunbathing, and enjoying the magnificent view. There are a lot of lanes for peaceful and tranquillity walks without the need of a car. This village of the Liebana Valley remains unspoilt. It offers accommodation for 6 people: a family or friends who wish to be together. The climate of this sheltered valley is almost Mediterranean, a genuine sunny, warm, dry microclimate. The coast, with its white sandy beaches, is to 40 kilometres away through the Hermida gorge. The living quarters are on one floor with entrance hall; fully equipped kitchen/dining area; 3 bedrooms; a living room with TV y DVD player; and one bathroom.

Resort description : The region of Cantabria is located in northern Spain amid the majestic mountains and sea that bear its name. This land of extraordinary physical variety can be divided into three areas: the coastal fringe, the valleys and the high mountains. Cantabria is a strip of territory sandwiched between the Bay of Biscay and the mountains of the Cantabrian Cordillera, merging into the Basque lands of the Costa Vasca to the east and the Asturian Costa Verde further west. The Cantabrian coast offers the wonderful spectacle of sea and mountain, fauna and flora, ports and leisure activities. Nestling among the many cliffs are more than 60 beaches, among which are the bays of Santoña and Santander, the latter being of incomparable beauty in the whole of the north of Spain. The Cantabrian mountain range dominates the landscape, rising from the East to the West and reaching more than 2,500 metres with the majestic Macizo de los Picos de Europa. Its snow-capped peaks are often the first thing you see as you are approaching Cantabria by sea. The greatest attractions in Cantabria are its contrasts: green valleys, towering peaks, and blue waters. The coastal scenery is lovely, often lined with fine beaches, little resorts and picturesque fishing villages. There is one world that revolves around agriculture and cattle-raising, the other centres around fishing. The coats of arms displayed on the stately homes are reminders of a proud past, while in the valleys, enclosed between mountains, rural life goes on as usual. The Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa, a national park containing the highest peaks in the Cantabrian mountains, has elevations exceeding 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) and landscapes of long narrow canyons and deep valleys. This National Park is a UNESCO Biospere Reserve - the highest award given to a protected area.
